Can anyone else feel Atrial Flutter(ing)?

Having a run of AFlutter at the moment and I’m certain I can feel my atria having a ball! Wriggly feeling and I could also see my jumper jumping slightly even though my heart rate is only around 115. Does anyone else have this or am I imagining it?

I just think you have weird & wonderful feelings constantly with darling AF 🤔

Don’t you just love it?😡

Always could feel the wriggly worms with AF but hadn’t been aware of it with AFlutter before.

During my recent events I was calm enough (just) to be 'mindful' of my sensations and I am sure I could feel different feelings from my atria and my ventricles going at different rates of course. Weird was not the word 😰 I can now sort of imagine the effect of having a pacemaker with AF.

Spot on Buffafly - I tried to be analytical during it! 😃

I’m very symptomatic so if my heart is out of rhythm in any way I know it immediately. Afib always made me lethargic and flutter Always amped me up.

This was the first time I thought I could feel and see the effects on my atria - that usually happened only with fast AF.

Hi Finvola

I’m a strange one cos I don’t feel it . My husband tells me he can see my heart racing and the pulse in my neck .

Think I’ve just got use to it ? X

Interesting reikimaster - it’s so strange how differently we are affected - hope it continues to be hidden from you.

Hi Finvola :-) I have experienced something similar a few times when sitting quietly reading or watching TV. It is not like the horrible full blown P-AF episodes but short 'heart stirrings' that last just a few moments.

Yes, I think I was sitting quietly reading when it started and I tried hard to be aware as I could feel the strangeness, even though my HR wasn’t too bad.

It feels like you've put your heart in a tumble drier (doesn't come out soft and fluffy thank goodness!) :D

It’s my brain that is soft and fluffy this morning - I can’t remember how long the episode was or how it stopped. I know valsalvas and cold water in face didn’t work last night. Feel slightly semi-detached this morning - like brain fog only not as bad. Onward and upward!

Good Morning Finvola I am new to this site so I was very interesting reading your post, you seem to tackle it very well and still carry on as best you can. I am waiting for surgery but when I read all of the messages regarding AF I seem to be lucky. I have only ever had a rapid heart rate 200bpm in April last year but ever since then all I get palpations on a regular basis some are very uncomfortable other times they do not affect me to much and also feeling tired but I put that down to my age and working full time. Hope your day gets a little better.

Thank you Cappers and welcome to the forum and our topsy-turvy world of heart arrhythmias. I have a mantra during miseries ‘this too shall pass’ - so far, it always has! Unfortunately, tiredness is part of it all and I admire anyone who can work full time and cope with palpitations too. I assume you are waiting for an ablation? If so, best wishes and I hope it clears the misery for you.

My brain has cleared somewhat during the day and I remembered that I decided to take 300mg of Magnesium Citrate instead of my usual 250mg last night. The episode stopped about 40 minutes later. So, mag cit may have been helpful - will certainly remember for next time . . .
