Cardiac ablation

Cryoablation done 10 days ago, discomfort after eating, indigestion pains, anyone else have this.
This is a very common post procedure side effect as listed in our Recovering from Ablation fact sheet. The oesophagus passes close to the areas ablated and can become inflamed by the heat or cold used. Normal indigestion remedies can help but if you are really worried then speak to your EP team.
Yes I had it. It does settle down. I have occasional bouts of 6 weeks post ablation.
My EP rx'd omezaprole for a month starting just prior to the ablation...as a prophylactic. An indication of how commonly the irritation may occur. Hope you find good relief.
Poor you. I hope it eases soon. I had ablation four weeks ago and the surgeon gave me pills to sooth stomach discomfort (6 weeks worth ) which I thought rather odd at the time as I didn't have any problems...and hadn't asked for them. For him this is standard procedure...now I know why.....hoping the mess work and your soon back to good Heath
Thanks I’m sure it will
Are you on anti coagulation? If so which one? I know dabigatran (pradaxa) can cause acid reflux in some people. They gave me lasoprazole another PPI to counteract it. However personally never got reflux so I stopped taking the lans
aprazole.
When I had my pvi cryo ablation i did have a major pain in my chest immediately afterwards for about 15 mins. It was like I swallowed some thing large which got stuck going down. I had a drink of water and it eased off and never returned.
I am on Apixiban, had no problems prior to this, but have to say things are improving, so think it will all settle eventually.
