Far too early to say it has failed. It will take three to six months to heal and a lot may happen in that time. There is a great fact sheet available from A F Association and if you look at pinned posts there is one about recovery. If you access it and scroll down you will find a link from doodle which will take you there.

I think it's your ablation for AF you're thinking of, not the flutter ablation? Let's hope it is a one off because of the irritation from this one.

Yes you are correct. Can we still have or live a healthy lifestyle with Afib or its an illness that will prevent normal day to day activities??

Hi, I think that depends on three things, how symptomatic you are, how well you look after yourself including your attitude, and care from your medical team. Many members here live full lives in spite of AF, although they have some difficulties doing so. I felt very downhearted when I realised my ablation had 'failed' after two years, but I'm better off than before, have a couple of options re further treatment and feel pretty fit on the days I don't have any AF. Best wishes, hope you get over the bump in the road OK 😀

I've had 3 ablations, two for afib and one for flutter. The flutter one has been successful for the most part but afib no. I've had afib since 2010 still work as a preschool teacher but get tired more easily but maybe being 8 years older has something to do with that! I take 100mg flecanaide two times per day and 6.25 mg of carvedilol 2 times per day plus 20 mg of xarelto.

Hello Amcech.. am on flecanaid 150 mg twice daily n warfarin... can we still live a good quality of life with Afib??

Yes but it does depend on your symptoms when in Afib. Flecaniade has kept me out of afib since late April. In the past I felt the worst when the afib begins if my heart rate goes up. The carvedilol has kept my heart rate down so when I was in afib I just felt more tired than usual. I've been able to keep up with 14 4 year olds (12 were boys) when in afib. I think it can be mind over matter and just make up your mind to keep going. The more I worried about the afib more frequent the bouts were. Also, stay well hydrated! I've linked my afib to not drinking enough water.
