Any bright ideas?

Hi. I recently moved from Warfarin to Dabigatran prior to a trip to Malaysia. While there I had double vision and felt dire, when I got home I started having TIAs and asked to revert. That transition went wrong and I had a mild stroke. The medics put me on Rivaroxaban but the TIAs continued so they switched me to Edoxaban, with no inprovement. I’m now back on warfarin again (it was OK for years...) but still continuing to have episodes that range from a full TIA, left or right, to sensations of weakness in my arms; and everything between.

Medics are at a loss whether they are TIAs (but I’ve had over 40 and should have more damage), seizures (but I have them on both sides) or migraines (but Propanolol didn’t suppress them). A medical friend thinks they may be Watershed events. Whatever, they are they are very disruptive!!

(I’m also on Candesartin, Felodipine and Bisoprolol) for hypertension)

Any bright ideas or similar experiences?

seems very strange. I know one has to make sure one is fully AC when changing. Difficult as warfarin builds up slowly but as long as you took the NOAC when warfarin was at the right declining level it shouldn't have affected things...

my doc switched me from warfarin to rivaroxaban which he tells is the preferred choice. I have had no side effects at all, so can't help really.

I’m sorry I cannot help much, I was on Warfarin for years until my husband had two strokes, and was found to have a brain tumour,so I went on to Rivaroxaban to save INR checkups while I had to take him to hospitals very often.

It didn’t suit me so two years later I reverted to Warfarin, which is only a nuisance after antibiotics have unbalanced all my settings!

I tried googling 'watershed events heart' and found some interesting information. Your medical friend may be on to something. If it was me I would read all I could, and then approach my doctor to find out how to have this properly investigated.
