Anyone been to Bordeaux for an Ablation?

I'm hoping to go to Bordeaux for a Catheter Ablation next month.

Has anyone been there an if so could they tell me:_

1) How long before the Ablation did you have the Transoesophageal Echocardiogram done and how sore was your throat afterwards?

2) How did you get from the airport there to your accommodation?

3) Did you have to fast before the procedure?

4) Did you stay for the Patient Evaluation the following Monday?

5) How did you book accommodation for after the procedure not knowing exactly how many days you would be in the Hospital?

Thanks

I havnt any personal experience myself but Iris 1205 has if l remember been treated there either for an Ablation or consultation...

She is on the forum very infrequently now .However, she may still respond to a private message..

I know she spoke very highly of the consultants in France.

I would SkYPE her for you but have no broadband at the moment.

Carol.

Sorry to disturb your walk. I haven't found IRIS 1205. When I go into members I get 12,334 to go through! Is there a quicker way?

Thanks

Hello Samjam, well done on choosing what I understand is one of the best places in the world. I haven't had an ablation yet but if I did need one I could well follow you.

Can I ask 1) is this private and if so it around the UK price of £18K 2) how did you choose the EP or are they all world class 3) Are all consultations done in english, my french is not up to describing how I feel?

Professors Jais and Haissaguerre are widely regarded as 2 of the bets 3 ablationists in the world. If you contact them (stephanie.bentz@chu-bordeaux.fr) they will send you full details on just about everything you need to know, including the price which is considerably less than £18K. No worries about language. The French are much better at speaking English than most of us are at speaking French.

Try a-fib/faqs-a-fib-ablations-the-bordeaux-group/ for useful details as well.

Sorry Samjan1, I am eight months behind in reading your post as I could have answered your questions since I had two ablations there in 2017. As you have mentioned 2 out of 3 ablationist, whom do you consider the third and who did your ablation Hocini or Jais? Hope you are in sinus rhythm.
