Hello Kevinder. I expect you may get a range of answers!

Many people take flecainide on a daily basis - either 50mgs or 100 mgs or 150mgs, all twice a day. Some take 50mgs three times a day. 300mgs of Flecainide in 24 hours is the maximum dose.

How much did you take on Saturday? Two hours might seem a little bit slow.

If you are getting AF every three or four days a daily dose might be worth consideration.

Thankyou x

You really need to ask your doctor, but it is very important that you do not take any more than 300 mgs in any one 24 hour period.......

I took 200mg saturday i normally go into a/f every 10/14 days so was really shocked when it happened this evening i feel as though the flec has made me go into a/f too soon so upsetit took me all my courage to take it saturday and i was really pleased with myself that i had finally done it.i wont be able to speak to doctors secretaary until tomorrow morning now thankyou for your kind replys x

try not to worry Kevinder, in my case I was taking Flec as a PiP with reasonably long periods between episodes. When I was waiting for my ablation, the episodes began to happen more regularly and I was prescribed a low daily dose which kept AF at bay for more than 6 months. Hopefully, you will get some helpful information tomorrow......best wishes.

If taken as PIP takes longer if you have eaten. Sorry you got another " bit of a do" so quickly.

Thankyou

I have recently seen an EP who decided that I was troubled so little by AF he would stop my Nebivolol and give me Flecainide to take as a PIP two hours after the start of an episode. It did nothing. I took it at the start of the next episode and it was an improvement. However, was now starting to get episodes most nights!! After consultation with the arrhythmia nurse I’m back on Nebivolol and no further episodes so far. Hurrah

Well,I take 100mg of Fkec twice a day,and can also can take one as a PIp if necessary.Max dosage 300mg daily I believe,so you would seem to have plenty of leeway. But I am not medically trained.....

What are the long-term side effects of flecinide? I had a 3rd ablation about six months ago and was on Flec twice a day have not had any only One palpitation episode at the airport i went to 122 bpm for an hour. My doctor took me off the Flecinide .Don’t feel any different but heartbeat is been purring around 60 BPM and feeling great just on 50 long released Metoporal.

200mg of flecinide per day and 2.5mg of bisoprolol, I can take extra of both if AF continues which I do but even so AF can last on and off for days then I might get 2 days in NSR then back to AF and irregular heartbeats, hopefully ablation op at the end of this month, hope it does not get cancelled.

As for side effects breathless, fatigue and since they increased my dose I've notice an increase in the breathless after even a short walk with the dog.
