Sorry to hear this. Ablation should be straightforward - perhaps check with staff where you had it done??

What has your GP said?

Ive had 24hrs ecg and echocardiogram anf waiting for my appointment on 14th march. My Gp says its anxiety i know a bit of it is but to keep feeling breathless and lightheaded isn't right. He eventually did a 24bp monitor and i have high blood pressure so put on bp tablets. Just haven't felt well since june 2017 and thought it was all down to svt and would feel fine after ablation but i don't. Once ive had my appointment with cardiologist on 14th might get some answers.

Do you have a history of anxiety predating your ablation? Many, and perhaps the majority, of cases labelled as "anxiety" turn out to have an underlying physical cause, even if it can take a long time to make the diagnosis. Many doctors have difficulty distinguishing between patients who are anxious because they have developed a new physical problem, and patients who are simply anxious.

Get a "Kardia" heart rhythm recorder and use it when you have the palpitations. Show the recordings to your doctors. Take the chance, when you see the cardiologist, to check whether starting BP treatment on the basis of a 24 hour BP at a time when you are feeling anxious, is something she would agree with. Certainly not suggesting your GP was wrong, just that in your position I would ask the question. And of course continue all meds as prescribed by your GP, for the present.

If your ablation was a cryoablation then one of the possible side effects is Phrenic nerve paralysis, but this is not as bad as it sounds. This nerve operates the diaphragm and controls breathing. It almost always resolves itself without treatment, but can take from 3 months up to a year.

Hi Karinaec. I have had a cryoablation about two months ago and I get these too .I was still a-fib after ablation and had a cardioversion after the ablation and I am still a-fib I also get these symtums and have good days and not so good days ,comes and goes .Yesterday I could have stayed in bed all day .Last night my heart has beating hard it seemed ,right now I feel fine .My pulse stays mainly in the 70's and sometimes goes up in the 80's and then back into the 70's .They say it takes several months for the heart to heal up from ablation so I guess its not uncommon what we are experiencing . Wish you well . Keep reading these blogs it will help you not to worry as much . Also you may call the doctor or nurse and explain you concern maybe that would help you feel better about it . Best wishes . Jerry

Thank you Jerry so its obviously part of the healing process, just thought after 6 weeks id feel a bit better but i am impatient ha. I did get onto the hospital hence having the 24ecg so i have to be more patient and just wait for my appointment in March. Haven't been able to return to work yet due these symptoms. But great thanks alot for your feed back makes me feel a bit better
