Feeling upset

I had ano ablation in April last year and am off meducation. I've had loads of ectopic beats lately but today I had a really nasty painful bout of AF for 20 mins. I have been under a lot of stress due to a recent family bereavement. Has anyone else had this ? I'm worried that the AF is back

It is pretty well impossible to state that your AF is back. It could be any number of other arrhythmias such as atrial tachycardia in that short time so don't give up yet. Unless you can capture this on an ECG nothing is certain. Try not to worry and try to overcome the stress as best you can.

I have part of it on my kardia. my heart rate has gone down but its still 103 and i feel very shaky

Stress can trigger an episode, just hope that it is a one off incident.

Relaxation and rest and some slow breathing.

When I get shaky I also use Dr Bach Rescue Remedy - excellent for shock.

Thanks x

Lucillear, I had an episode just over a year after my ablation which I know was brought on by stress, since then my ticker has occassionally felt "vulnerable" but try to calm, there is every chance it might pass. If, like me you had a cryoablation, it is sometimes necessary to have a further RF ablation to tie up any loose ends, so still early days for you

Thanks flapjack xx

As Flapjack has said, you may need just a small amount of touch up- where the scar heals and leaves a little gap- so don't be too concerned- let us know how you get on,

Thanks so much that's very reassuring xx

I'm in a similar situation I guess. Successful ablation in April last year, been fine until 2 weeks ago. Had a lot of physical and mental stress and worry from 2 gallbladder flare ups and a teenager causing loads of worry.

I feel like I'm on the edge of going in to AF at any moment and my heart rate is higher than previously. If I exercise it doesn't seem to want to come down.

I've also had lots of ectopics and feelings of anxiety and breathless.

I've a horrible feeling that the flutter is back 😣

It's rubbish Mike. I felt very similar to you for a few weeks after a lot of stress because my cousin died 3 weeks ago as the result of a car accident and her dad is in hospital so am visiting him after work at least 3 times a week but yesterday wham Af for 20 mins. It's calmed down today but I still feel very bumpy. I captured a bit of it on my Kardia so will wait to see what the EP says. Hang on in there x
