Well on my way home from work my heart went mad had to call paramedics took me to hospital for the usual tests it's 4 months since ablation. It's so strange that it came back. They are arranging heart monitor to be fitted, I have mitral valve regurgitation mild so I wondering if this is why my ablation has not worked this time has anyone got any ideas.

Hello Sue, obviously a disappointing time for you but it is still early days. It can take between 3 to 6 months or so for the scar tissue to heal so don't give up hope yet!!

A relative of mine had her valve fixed and an ablation at the same time eith two separate teams sorting out both problems during one trip to theatre. Both problems successfully resolved. Her valve issue was significant whereas you say yours is mild. Worth asking the question of your doctor though. Your hosp medics will advise and act as appropriate.

Scary I know but early days on the ablation front. Sorry it was such an alarming time.

Many of us have mild valve regurgitation. I doubt it has anything to do with your latest episode. Tell us how high was your heart rate, how long did it last, and did it self-convert.

What type of ablation did you have? Have you had previous ablations? Do you have a Kardia monitor. They are very helpful.

I would keep a record of all episodes and as much info as possible.

You may want to talk to your EP.

I had an AFib episode last evening. I had walked back from Waitress (Sunday shopping) and carried 3 heavy bags and had to stop every 60 steps or so ) - a 15-20 minute walk. In the evening I decided to cook a fish pie from scratch, using 2 recipes and lots of pans and just as it was going in the oven I felt so dizzy and had to slide down to the floor. I then went to my sitting-room (turning oven off first!), and after 5-10 mins my heart, which had been beating rapidly, slowed down. It happened again four hours later, slightly. I do not feel right. I had my ablation in July. Now, I seem to get 'episodes' out of the blue, more often, some long (4 hours last one and I ended up in A&E) and now this short one. I am so fed up!
