The Magnesium Miracle

Has anyone taken Dr. Dean's supplements? I have been taking ReMag for the past two months and can't really say that it's made any difference as still having episodes weekly. I had really hoped that there would be an improvement as I wanted to go the natural route. I'm presently only taking Xarelto and resigned to the fact that I will be on this forever, so feel that I at least have some protection. Before starting the magnesium I had an RBC blood test done to determine that my magnesium level was low. I read online of many people taking all kinds of additional supplements, but am really afraid of experimenting on my own, and Dr. Dean's book The Magnesium Miracle made sense, I just wish it was working better for me. Maybe I'm just looking for a "miracle", but anything would be better than struggling with these ongoing episodes!!

You will find thst very many people on this forum find magnesium supplements helpful.

I started taking Magnesium Taurate as recommended by Dr Gupta some weeks ago. Almost immediately the bouts of tachycardia which were plaguing me for hours at a time several times a week for several months virtually ceased. I thought That I had found the answer. This continued for about 5 weeks and then unfortunately returned the same as before. For the time being anyhow I have stopped taking it.

I also have The Magnesium Miracle and it certainly makes sense.

I started to take magnesium to help with AF and a thyroid problem. It was rec. by the thyroid doctor. It has helped enormously.....mostly re. much more energy which is what I understand Magnesium does for the heart....enables a better pumping function.

make sure you are having a potassium rich diet too- that has made a large difference for me. Jacket potato has about 1000mg - bananas and salmon about 400- you need around 4000mg a day

But have your potassium levels checked before taking extra. Mine are higher than normal and this can be dangerous too.

I, too, have been on Dr. Dean's program a couple of months and have also read her book, which gave me great hope. I saw an ever-so-slight improvement during the first month. But my progress was interrupted by a two-week trip abroad. I decided not to take my supplements with me because of all the restrictions on packing it in my carry-on. Since returning from the trip, I have had difficulty getting back into the routine for a variety of reasons. Especially over the holidays, I also strayed from my clean eating and no alcohol regimen, which I think is just as important as the magnesium.

So, do I think Dr. Dean's program helps? Probably -- and it surely doesn't hurt. Can it cure me? I don't think so, unless I also give up wine (which I LOVE) and strictly monitor my diet -- no gluten, minimal starch, minimal sugar, minimal dairy and lots of lean protein and healthy fiber. I am doing my best.

It took 5 months taking magnesium before I noticed a change. I used to go into Afib twice a month, now I may go into Afib every other month which makes me very happy. Give the magnesium more time.
