Does anyone know if Bisoprolol can effect your head and make you feel really down and depressed?

Appsolutely didn't agree with me! I was only on it for 9 weeks before my 3rd Ablation. I progressively felt worse, each day I felt so tired and depressed. I finally took myself off it when I had suicidal thoughts. Immediately I felt so much better. When I mentioned it to my EP the morning of my procedure he said "yes, it's very common to have that reaction" 😩

I no idea why "absolutely" got changed to appsolutely

Didn't suit me at all and did very little to reduce my heart rate. Felt as if I was walking through treacle , slowed down my whole system and made it very difficult to lose weight ( a work in progress !)

And yes, it made me feel low in spirit

I hated it, made me feel awful. Breathless, tired and zombie like most of the time.

I blame Bisoprolol for causing me to become depressed but there were a lot of other changes going on in my life at the time so I can't be certain. All I know is that when I changed drugs (to Diltiazem), my depression eased.

I understand alternative drugs are available. Bisoprolol seems to be the first drug of choice and it does its job for many people but not for some. Have a word with your cardiologist and/or GP and see if any of the alternatives are appropriate for you.

Yes. Ask to try either nebivolol, or if you are suitable calcium blocker Verapamil

Yep.....I'm in a permanent fog, irritable, often have a really low mood but some days brighter and I've put on weight. Positively I'm hoping my EP is going to take me off it tomorrow following my ablation, it's my first consultation tomorrow .....feeling hopeful
