I have just received a copy of the letter sent from my EP to my Cardiologist and it is suggesting I take 120mg of Veramapil SR. has anybody else taken this and if so how have you got on with it. It has been suggested because my heart rate drops too when taking Bisoprolol

Hi Nanabrodie, I took Verapamil 120mgs SR for about a year for SVT and then had an ablation. As far as I can remember I did not have any side effects. Good luck.

Hi Nanabrodie,I have taken Verapamil 240mg since 2009 for asymptomatic AF with no side effects. Following a flutter line ablation in Jan which cured my AFlutter my EP reduced my daily dosage to 120mg with no side effects .Hope this helps you.

Yes, thank you. After seeing all the possible side effects it does help to put my mind at rest.

I too had problems with bisoprolol (cardiologist : "you'd have been dead by Monday") so went onto Verapamil which worked well but had the quite usual side effect of some swelling in the lower legs. If you do stuff a pillow or spare duvet under the mattress and it will drain out each night.
