Ablation looming

Went for my pre-assessment yesterday, fortunately didn't need a TOE as I wasn't in full AF (just a bit ziggly (!!)on my ECG). Ablation day tomorrow, so feeling a bit tense at the moment. I'll let you know how it goes

*ziggly = zig zag and wiggly!

I didn't have a TOE either prior to my ablation. Prepare everything you may need to have to hand during the 4hr lie-in post ablation. The most essential thing for me was lip salve as something caused awful drying out of my lips.

Good luck, stay calm, just go with the flow. It not that awful, I promise you.

Then rest, rest, rest.

Thank you

No one mentioned the ignominy (and difficulty) of shaving my bits! At least it made my wife laugh!

That wasn't considered necessary either! But maybe ladies aren't as hairy!

why your bits? Surely near your bits is good enough?

I think my wife was just trying to get her own back.......they wanted both groins doing and the tops of my legs

so, when you have an ablation, how do they cover your modesty? Or do they bother?

With a very small piece of netting. My excuse was that I was quite nervous and it was VERY cold........

Saving ziggly 😁

Best wishes!

You will probably have the TOE during the ablation, once you are under.

No one told me to shave prior to operation first time around. Cue me very awkwardly waddling to the gents with the "ward razor" to sort it out right before surgery.

Many thanks to all responses, am currently sitting in bed 12 hours after ablation, feeling remarkably sanguine! Very minor chest discomfort, but not as bad as I feared
