Recovery time for catheter ablation.

I have WPW syndrome and I have and arrhythmia which is caused by this and the doc told me I will need a catheter ablation. I am 16 and I smoke, what would be the recovery time for me and would there be a higher risk to the procedure due to my bad habit or my age?

Need to stop the smoking. COPD from smoking caught up to my father.

Besides the lungs and heart are closely connected. Bad lungs put a strain on the heart. So why chance that.

Age shouldn't be a factor. Ablations done by a skilled EP that does many of them are relatively safe procedures.

My godson had an ablation for WPW at exactly your age and his recovery was swift, as is typical for young people. HOWEVER, smoking complicates and increases risk with every procedure and is a ticket to health issues for the rest of your life. The sooner you stop, the better your life long health will be. Besides, think of all the great things you can do with the money you save Be well.

I always tell smokers to put the money saved into a an ISA or a pension scheme. 20 a day in the UK now costs over £3,000 a year.
