Hi, I'm not a doctor, but my understanding is that the 2:1 is the ratio of transmission between the atria to the ventricles, i.e. the atria may be beating at 260bpm, which translates to the ventricles as a beat of 130bpm, which would be what your pulse is doing.
Preserved LV function sounds like a good thing i.e, your left ventricle is working OK.
I may be wrong, but I don't think these two things should worry you too much. Hopefully others on her more knowledgable than myself will be able to confirm or correct what I've written.
Thank you so much, been researching on Google but scaring myself to death as all the LV functions results seem to come up with Heart Failure (My biggest fear) I hate this bloody condition Grrr!!!
Haha Bob, don't tell me off I have been so well behaved of late trying not to panic, had a horrible time of fast flutter for 2 weeks and was cardio verted AND behaved myself with no dramatics!! Just got my notes through today and wondered what they meant and Dr Fay is in India so couldn't torment him haha!! Plus I am having the ablation in a few months!
Anyway hope you are doing well Bob, X
So you agree, preserved LV function is a good thing ?
Yes, I always watch any forthcoming procedures on YouTube.
I found a prostate laser video by the surgeon who was going to do mine. When I commented he said 'Oh that was just a small one not at all like your 135 gram one' After the procedure he said it had taken over three hours and that I had ruined his back.
I'm a doc (with afib). Just wanted to mention some you seemed concerned that preserved ejection fraction just means your heart is pumping normally. In fact it's a very good thing and helps to support that you have a good heart (despite all the afib and extra beats). I'm glad time getting an ablation (or already got if you did). Based on your age and history I would say it's overdue! You will do great!
