I'm a married 72 yrs male just got a pacemaker to deal with my atrial fibrillation I've had since the early 90's. The rapid heartbeat that I had 130+ for a long time seems much better now running 70-89 with drugs metropol & verapamil.Sleeping and staying asleep has been a real problem. Yesterday went to our primary physician and he prescribed Doxepin 10mg to try at night to sleep. Didn't work well. Can't stay asleep so tired.Did purchase ambient but Dr. Said no bad side effects. Anyone had sleep issues?

I found that taking magnesium, which is thought to be low in anyone with AFib, improved my sleeping, along with my general health. It seems to be considered safe providing one does not have kidney problems. Use the search box (above right on the screen) to find recommendations on what to buy etc.

Understand your problem only too well. A good nights sleep is a thing of the past for me and impacts on your daily life obviously. I have tried all sorts of coping methods and now given in to zopliclone tablets which I take every now and again to try and get a better night. I listen to talking books if I wake and can't get back to sleep which eventually makes me nod off again 😴
