Hey guys

After numerous Cegs 24 hour included and an eghogram my cardiologist finally got her hands on the original A&E CEG they said I had fast AFib.On the letter says in her opinion and her boss the consultant they couldn't see any evidence of AFib but something called Ventricular ectopics which is quite common it says. She asked me to stop Rivaroxaban straight sway after 2 months using it.She also suggested to take the Bisopropol 1.25mgs if I need it as pip for the ectopics.I am a bit confused though happy I haven't got AFib but taking Bisopropol as PiP is strange as I am asymptomatic and i don't even know when the ectopics kicking in any ideas guys my next follow up appointment is in 8 weeks time long time to wait for the answers

If you do not have AF then on balance your risk from taking NOAC is greater than not so that makes sense. Bisoprolol as PIP when you don't actually know there is a problem doesn't to me. Any treatment is only about improving quality of life (QOL) so in your case WTF? I think it your choice but like you, can't see the point

Hey BobD

Thank you for the quick response I tend to agree with you 100% come to think about it I will most certainly raise a lot of questions on my follow up appointment with the consultant I.e why took them so long to pick it up i havent got Afib and how bad are my Ventricular ectopics as a percentage

" I am asymptomatic and i don't even know when the ectopics kicking in ". So what took you to A&E in the first place? If you are not feeling symptoms, then you won't be taking it, but we all change and progress, and you might start to feel symptoms later, especially as you are now aware of what is going on. Maybe the PiP is just there to give you reassurance that something can be done, if you start to feel symptoms.

Hey thank you momist

What happened my GP asked me to go to A&E 2months ago for high potassium level after a routine blood test ad i wad running a risk for heart attack.I am type 2 diabetic with diet control for the last 4 years and i am controlling it very well with low carb diet and exercise. As it happened that day at A&E walked fast on the steep road leading to A&E and my anxiety level was high because of what the Gp said. The subseguen bllod test proves it was a false alarm and my potasium was normal but they detected fast AFib which my cardiologist and a consultant say the ECG it us not AFib but ventricular ectopics with extra beat sorry about the long story but this is the events

Thanks for the detail. Yeah, for me the anxiety caused by the AFib is the most worrying part. PiP might be the best way forward? As BobD says, it's all about quality of life.

I have a follow up appointment on the 28th of July with a consultant and i will most certainly clarify the situation about bisopropol as pip and also to check the percentage of my ectopics shown on the 24hour ECG monitor

I was prescribed 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol for my ectopics. I didn't get on with this drug at all. My cardiologist took me off it as I wasn't too affected by the ectopics. I however still take the Rivaoxaban. Did your cardiologist say why you should come off it ?
