I thought it was a good day

Yesterday I spend all day washing and folding laundry. I swept up the house a bit I even planned to cook dinner. Then by 4o'clock my legs and feet began to puff a bit. I thought that it would be fine I only had three more loads of laundry to get washed and dried. So I went to switch out the laundry again. When I bent over to pull my things from the dryer I got a dizzy spell. My heart began to beat very hard and I became short of breath. I made my way to my chair and focused on calming down. It took nearly 10 minutes to get everything to settle. I called my husband and told him what happened and he came home quickly. I stayed in my chair for two hours afraid to move much. I made my way to bed and even had a hard time sleeping. Today I'm lounging on the sofa and just resting up. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

You said yesterday the temperature where you are was 51C. That is 115 F in real money to us in UK. No wonder you suffer!!! If you have AF then you are bound to experience strain. Most people would without it!!!!

Lol It was 85 in the states where I am, yesterday. Its the humidity that gets me.

Yesterday you typed 51c . Thought you were in middle east or something. Must have been finger trouble. 85 is still slightly warmer than we were here this week but the clouds are over now and a balmy evening with a pleasant on shore breeze here in North Devon.

Lol. My conversion from American to metric is awful. I'm much better at speech articulation than math. I do wish I lived in a place that was a bit cooler than here and at least less humidity.

Ireland ruby? At the moment there is a strong NW wind and it's only 12 degrees outside. (8 am)

I would gladly join you there if I could get there. Ireland is a place I would love to see one day.

My heart always misbehaves when I bend forward, even though I take Flecainide and have had no AF for three years. I put it down to compression within the chest and/or shallow breathing.

Try my mantra - 'this too shall pass'. Hope tomorrow is better.

Ah. That makes sense. I will definitely find a new way to complete my tasks without bending forward. Do you have trouble when you stand up from a crouched position?

That's when I feel the racing and breathlessness, yes. I try to make it a habit to use gripper tongs to pick things up and have a small wheeled stool in front of the washer and drier so that I have only to lean forward and not bend.

Like Kate below, bulb planting is a real challenge and involves me looking at them until they die of old age!

Finvola I have a body scan meditation which includes words to the effect " It is ok not to like how my body feels at this moment" gives permission to let it pass rather than getting embroiled in the feeling which can perpetuate it.

Same for me, cleaning the floor or picking something up from the floor is always risky!

It's bending forward and thinking I could just manage to use a trowel and put a few summer bulbs in the garden that has sent me plummeting from the most tolerable (!) week for some time to mayhem overnight. Oh dear what fun this is.

It is better for me after my recent ablation, but bending down to do anything would leave me as breathless as if I had jist been running full tilt. And I retained fluid too. It seems like alllll my friends do yoga or teach yoga, and consider it a cure-all, and are always telling me how I can get my health in better shape if I just did yoga. It's hard to make them understand that putting my head below my waist or knees is actually NOT good for me currently. Lol I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you for the well wishes. I'm agree with you about yoga. I cannot see bending oneself into a pretzel will cure heart failure. I do a lot of very simple breathing and meditation. I will never claim it to be a cure all just a moment of peace. When that doesn't work I turn to a very low dose of valium. I use to do gymnastics. But just the thought of twirling makes my heart say: " are you sure the measurements for your grave the correct size?"

If I come off offensive please excuse me. Its just this condition has given me a bit of a morbid sense of humor. I went into my last ablation covered in marker and a red nose like the game operation. For my clinic visits I have a shirt that says low battery.
