Hi, I am two weeks post my second ablation and have strange feeling in my chest. Hard to describe, a bit like before I would go into a.f., a warm anxious/doom feeling in the chest, if that makes any sense. A few thuds too. Making me feel very weary. Any advice / ideas? Thanks xx

Are you still on any medication? rate or rhythm control? Do they come and go like PAF? Your heart has received another battering and can take time, sometimes weeks sometimes months to settle and some odd feelings, beats and flutters can be normal and to be expected. Still very early days. If they continue and you need professional reassurance perhaps try to contact EP via nurse or secretary.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. No I am not on any arrhythmic Meds since the last ablation. I have had the two ablations just six months apart, so suppose my body has had quite a trauma. It just gets scary at times with the strange feelings a f can bring. I hope you are well.

Hi there, I'm 3 weeks post ablation and I feel terrible. I'm still taking all the medication yet I am tachycardic and permanently in afib. I was sent to Urgent Care last Monday because I was dizzy and breathless. Due to see my EP on Thursday. I've been told this is normal post ablation. Our hearts really don't like being messed around with and can take weeks or months to settle down. It's scary though isn't it.

Thanks for your reply, sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. Some do but not many sail through the ablation. As you said the heart has been messed with and does not like and responds in all these different ways. I am improving still getting strange symptoms but not as often and not as strong as before. Yes at times it is scary. We are all here to support each other. I hope you are improving too. Take care x

I had an RF ablation 7 weeks ago. Heart has been pretty quiet...just a little bump here and there but I have had that same, hard to describe feeling in my chest very briefly a couple of times. I can't really describe it but yes, using your description a sort of warm, anxious feeling, almost like something is very wrong. It's so fleeting though that I'm not very worried about it. Seeing my EP on Monday for my first follow up. He told me that anything that happens, be it ectopics or afib are not to be concerned about for the first 3 months post ablation as the heart is very irritated and is healing. I will mention that odd feeling to him tho to hear what he has to say.

Thanks for your reply. Yes it is strange and hard to explain, warm stretched feeling and sometimes similar but icy feeling. Maybe I'm a strange one! Feeling more confident as weeks go by, as long as things keep behaving. Hope your ok, good luck and let me know how you got on. Thanks. Take care. X

Well I had my follow up with my EP and it was all good news. My holter monitor that I'd worn for 5weeks post ablation was perfect...the best they'd ever seen post ablation. Not a blip. Doctor was very happy with my healing and told me that I can even go off of blood thinners...I take Pradaxa. Needless to say I was shocked because everything you read on this forum says possibly...possibly after 6 months but probably have to be on them for life. So I told my EP that I trust him but am really nervous about going off of them right now, as it's only been two months. He said he was very comfortable with that as long as I take one if I feel any afib (and I'm one of those people who feel every little thing, so I definitely know when I'm in afib) and it lasts more than one hour. So a pill in pocket approach. He told me that if I was more comfortable waiting until our next visit which is the end of July that would be fine too. He didn't want to make me nervous about going off the medication and he said it's really up to me but he sees no reason for me to be on it any longer as my heart is so quiet and healed at this point. As I've said before, this runs contrary to the majority if not all posts on this forum, so I was taken aback. My GP, who works out of a different hospital, told me he was fine after 6 months as that's the protocol at his hospital as long as I remain afib free during that time. So I think I'm staying on Pradaxa until my next visit, mainly for my own sense of security, and that will bring me to 6 months anyway. At least that's my plan for the moment. I may change my mind as the months go by if I'm feeling very well. I did forget to mention the strange, anxious fleeting feeling that you and I have occasionally, but I haven't had it for a while so I'm assuming it's part of the healing process. So that's where I'm at, and hopefully things will keep improving for us both! I would love to get off of the blood thinners if possible, so I'm looking forward to that. Stay well!

I am now just over 3 months post-ablation and I get those warm, anxious, doom feelings every once in a while still. I quit drinking alcohol all together a couple of weeks ago and have felt good since, but last night I had one of those brief episodes while just sitting on the floor playing with my 2yr old son. Doctor didn't seem worried when I mentioned these episodes and said that I would probably eventually have to have another procedure.
