Thursdays Ablation done

Had my Ablation done at Glenfield Thursday, consultant said only 1 in 4 chance of it working because iv'e had persistant A F for so long,

But it worked well ,now in normal ritham , no groin pain no chest pain and no irregular beats so far, just hoping the A F don't come back.

So it's never to late to have a ablation,

Good news! Congratulations - but take it easy.

Great news - take it easy for a while now - easy to overdo things and undo all that great work.

Well Done Higgy,

My best wishes for the weeks ahead. Take it "nice and easy" for the next couple of weeks as BobD would say. I will keep in touch.

Regards

Barry

Hi Higgy

My cardiologist told me the same thing. But the EP knew otherwise, and told me so. I was in persistent AF for at many years before I had an ablation. The first was good for six months before the AF showed itself as flutter (with a vengeance). The second was good for a year which again showed itself as flutter / tachycardia and my third nearly 3 years ago has been very good so far. So don't despair if AF returns and you need another. As the paramedic said to me "minor setback".

Look froward...and good luck

Phil, I have had 2 abalations in the last 1 1/2 years and was doing so well....but the afib/flutter is back big time. I am going to my EP March 1st ( first appt available) and I'm afraid he will tell me I'm going to have to live like this forever but you said your 3rd one worked.....I am surprised they will do it a 3rd time so hopefully my EP will think a 3rd one will help. In December I totally blacked out and woke up on the floor so I am anxious again. This is quite a journey...

Salty0987.

After the 2nd, the tachycardia was with me off and on all day. They'll do more than 3, 4, or onwards if necessary. If it can be done. They will prob ask you what you want to do.

Don't despair. It is a big journey, that's right. You can message me if you like. Let us know what's to be.
