Listening to NSR heartbeat recording as a relaxation aid

Wonder if anyone has tried this technique and if so, did it help?

I heard it suggested for relaxing when in Arrythmia.

Sounds like a good idea. Just like mindfulness but concentrating on a heart rhythm.

Haven't tried this myself but it sounds rather like the recordings new Mums can use to help their babies sleep. So I guess it could help. Let us know if you try it?

Yes similar, I can't remember where I heard it but there was a study done that sometimes listening to NSR recording can help people not only to relax, but also sometimes help people to convert back into NSR. Something to do with herd instinct.

I am setting my iPhone up so I have a recording - ready for any further episodes.

I wondered if it might be a good experiment to do through this site?

I'd be willing to join in with an experiment, but I don't have an iPhone - or other type of smart phone. I wonder if anywhere sells NSR recordings that can be used like the baby-settling recordings I mentioned. One of my daughters had one that was encased in a soft toy.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

(I might ask said daughter if she still has the thing she used. Think it was 'womb music' rather than NSR though. Still, it might have a similar relaxing effect)

I would like to try this recording . I don't have a smart phone either. If anyone can suggest where I can buy one I would be very grateful.

My last episode was 2+ years ago and I just laid on the sofa and listened to the heartbeat recording and was back in NSR after 20 minutes - of course no idea whether that did it or not.

I once used a Nsr recording from my computer and I believe it worked.

I have found some recordings on U tube. They seem quite good.

I found they vary and I liked some and others not so much - pick one that you like.

If you have a computer if you do a search for 'audio normal sinus rhythm' you should find something you like and be able to download and convert file to use on any device of your choosing - except old tape - all the conversion files are just too complicated now - but someone may know something I don't........

I found such a recording on this site about a year ago.I used it for a bit(anxiety condition) and it was quite effective. Then I forgot about it.I will search and if I find it will post here...there is not much that i delete!

I think that is what we tend to do - use it for a while then forget about it........

Pleased to hear you found it effective. xx
