Third ablation, lots of palpitations.

Hi there. Been a while since my last post. After the ablation for AVNRT in 2014, I underwent a second one in january this year (LVOT) and another one just 12 days ago (20th October). My cardio tried to burn a point in the RVOT which gives me palpitations when doing an effort like brisk walking. Unfortenately the point was unreachable during the ablation but instead he burned 6 times in the LVOT area. In the end the pain was quite hard to endure. The first week at home is always 'zen'. Nothing to feel, no palp. The second week however turned out to be a living hell. Yesterday it all started with pvc's and pac's when moving around. Today I can't move without a palp, sometimes provoked by posture. Sometimes 4 faster beats a pause and a thump. Sometimes more (6) of that in a row. It takes my breath away. So I went to the ER. And they took blood, an X-ray of the chest and putted me on a monitor for several hours. All clear. Off course: when I am not moving I don't have any palpitations. So they send me back home, it was an assistant and it's a public holiday here in Belgium, with the words 'that it could be all for nothing (the ablation)' but he will talk it over with my cardio who is excellent by the way. The assistant upped my dosis of Sotalol (160 mg / 2 times a day), instead of 80 mg / 3 times a day. The ground under my feet slipped away. Could this be a part of the healing process or does this story sounds familiar to any of you? Thank you. For your information: I am 43, woman, and have these issues since 2005. Feedback is appreciated

Hmm, is Sotalol the only pill you've tried? It doesn't work for me and I know a lot of others have said the same thing. I would feel ill for a few hours after taking it and then was still getting attacks of AF and tachycardia. Flecainide has been my wonder pill. Like you I've had three ablations.

Hi Jean,

Thank you for your reply. Much, much appreciated. Today it's a tiny bit better (still knocking on wood ;) ) but still waiting for the cardio to call. I've been on flecaïnide and sotalol together for years but my current cardio told me that in my case flecaïnide together with quite a high dose of sotalol could cause more dangerous palpitations. In my case. So I underwent the ablations. And they did do miracles, only now my heart is reacting quite strong to the last one. Burned away six points, even got migraine afterwards (which I never had before). I've been on bisoprolol and nobiten but that doesn't work for me at all. It keeps my heartbeat at bay but didn't do much on palpitations. I guess I should be relaxed and have trust that everything will turn out ok. The point in the RVOT was unreachable instead he burned through something to get to the opposte point of whom he thinks is the starter. Thank you!
