Yes, I developed a cough and changed to candesarten.

Hi Lotus,

I'm on Ramipril and Felodopine for high blood pressure, Warfarin and Bisoprolol. no problems. I'm 71 and my average BP is around 126/70 with a heart rate of 65 -67. As far as I can see the medics work on the basis that anything that takes the workload off the heart helps the heart to cope with the stresses and strains of AF. There seems to be a school of thought today that anything up to 140/80 is OK anything above that is rated as high BP.

Hi, I take Bisoprolol, Dilaitazem an a Noac. I also take Ramipril but was told this was to strengthen the heart muscle, nohing to do with blood pressure. I can somethimes get a bit of a dry cough but otherwise no side effects. Was told to take this pill late evening.

For over 9 months my BP has been in the low side say circa 100 / 70. Then for some unknown reason went up so it's around 135 / 100. She was less worried about systolic but was more concerned that the diastolic was circa 100 so prescribed pills.

Hi. I have been on ramapril for the past couple of years as I was told it was to help with the flow of blood as I have left ventricle dysfunction. I am also on bisoprolol 10mg and also apixaban. I suffer from extreme fatigue and also constant numbness in my left arm and also have disturbed sleep. I also have a dry cough at times.I have been referred back to the cardiologist as my AF is not very well managed at the moment and I have asked that all my medication is reviewed. Although I am suffering from these symptoms it is difficult to know whether it is my condition or whether it is the medication. Some GP's still have this one pill suits all policy and I have even been told that a lot of what I experience is in the mind but as we are all different and react differently to medication, this stance I believe is where a lot of confusion stems from. Anyway hope you get the answers you want.

Has the numbness been investigated? I have had numbness in my left foot mainly when walking for many years. It has been worsening since October 2014 and makes walking difficult. CT and MRI scans of my back and pelvic area show nothing sinister and neurologist just gives a Ball Park diagnosis of idiopathic neuropathy.

Many medications can cause neuropathy but little improvement after stopping Amiodarone and Bisoprolol and latterly stopping Losartan for a month. Next an investment of £250 to see a neurologist who specialises in neuropathy. They are very thin on the ground with none in Sussex and just a visiting one in Kent.

I have repeatedly told medics about numbness in my left arm but has always fallen on death ears. Will be discussing this with the cardiologist in a few weeks as I have read it can be as a result of the LV dysfunction.

Does it prevent much use of the arm? I've mentioned it to cardiologists and the EP could see my difficulty in walking when I went to have my pacemaker fitted but of course that is outside of their domain. It actually went from just being a slight nuisance to being a major problem in just a week in June of last year when I was having major problems with Bisoprolol.

First neurologist in 2013 said after examination that as I had suffered from it for some time it could be nothing sinister... well it's much worse now. I had gone to him about on going headaches after a bang on the head. I had hoped to see him again last year to take him to task but got a locum who was much better.

I don't have problems with the use of the arm but would like an explanation from the cardiologist /GP whether it is a symptom or medication induced. Seems that the more you ask of some medics they close ranks and you are left up in the air not knowing what is going on. Or they just put it down to wear and tear or getting old. Some medics don't recognize that side affects do exist with these types of medication

I have the same l v d down to 35% it should be 50% normal told that's not to bad well had it for 30 odd years they told me the same ramapril was to help the l v d. but I have no problems with it so don't see the need to take it they say as I'm getting older it will help take the strain off heart.but I'm not one for taking all these drugs they sold the apixaban drug to me as I don't want to be a burden to anybody as result of stroke .
