Post Ablation Follow Up

Hi

I seen my surgeon this week and is he very happy with my results. My ablation was performed June 8. It was a rough week after but I got through it and have come out the other side.

My heart rate is great, blood pressure is perfect and now I can resome my excercising. I showed a couple extra beats while wearing the holter a couple of weeks ago, but my doc says that is part of the normal healing as is my flutters from time to time. I haven't had any alcohol since January and if I decide to, I thing it will be a very light beer as I am a little nervous about that.

I am back to walking at a fast pace albeit I have been walking around the block the week after my ablation. I do expect flutters for a while as he told me it would be up to 6 months for complete healing. I feel very positive and am back to living 100%.

Great news. I love it when something goes right!

Had my ablation at the end of March and i'm still nervous about exercising - what are you planning to do to get back into your exercise regime ( if you have one? )

Hi Ruth

I use to jog so my goal is to get back to that, and weight lifting, hiking and other cardiologist. I am definitely planning on joining yoga also. I'm already walking a fast pace and hill climbing slowly but I get to the top. 😊

That sounds very ambitious!

Good luck and I hope it all goes well in the future!

Umm like you Perrylees, I am taking it slowly on when and what to do exercise wise as till feel am not back to full capacity yet and really don't want to mess up the success of the ablation so far! ( had ablation April 8th)

Walking, gentle gardening and gentle stretching exercises so far only ...

snap..... ive joined a pilates class too. Done a couple of long(ish) walks 4-5 miles and my usual gardening which is fairly gentle really and that's about the extent of it. I'm trying to lose a bit of weight and its not easy. Definitely going to the gym or anything like that though!

Hope it goes well for you!
