Unfortunately no. In my case it worsened the fibrillation and required also the fitting of a bi-ventricular pacemaker.

I didn't have AFib before my mitral valve was replaced with a mechanical valve but went into AFib/flutter soon after & now am on more medication than before.

Let us all note that this concerns valvular PAF and the vast majority of AFib sufferers have lone AF with no co conditions so whilst it may benefit a few people who do have valvular AF it is not a cure as such for most.

Docs at local hosp offered no guarantees at all, that work on the mitral valve would stop AF, . Seems once prone to AF at best it lurks in the background Not good news.
