What does alive cor detect

Does alive cor detect anything else other than AF? I have done pretty unusual looking lumps and bumps and it just says nothing unusual detected( they are not the usual ones that seem to be associated with my ectopics).

Thanks in anticipation

My understanding is that Alivecor produces a one lead ECG which shows all sorts of things other than AF. Ectopics are easy as they are usually an upside down blip but you would need to understand the nuances of ECGs to fully understand everything. Remember also that Alivecor is easily corrupted by interference and poor contact (fingers too dry) and many of us struggle to get sensible traces. My advice is not to worry too much and only use it when you want to obtain proof of AF for your doctor. If you feel well and your pulse is even ( I presume you know how to check your pulse) then why use it?

I don't very much although my pulse isn't always even because of the ectopics. Is there a website called reading an ECG for dummies by any chance do you know !!!!!???

Your Alivecor app has a section under More... Education which gives examples of the different arrhythmias - might be useful.

I agree it would be much better if it did identify other things. My understanding is that AFib generates a lot of other bumps and oddities. I find these terribly worrying, and when I asked my EP if they would go after a successful ablation, he said they would.

So I have my fingers crossed for that, though I accept that - having become sensitised to this sort of thing - I might still detect some oddities, especially in the early settling down stages. Indeed, I seem to vaguely recall in the good old days before AFib, I did get the odd something or other, but never really took much notice.
