Is there anyone out there still on Digoxin? I have been on this drug for about three years. No adverse effects. Drug has had bad press recently.

Been on it for over a year. No problems. The alternative offered was Amiodarone which I refused as I had previous side effects.

I have been on digoxin for two and a half years. In June the cardio confirmed it was safe.

Yes, been on it for a while now in combination with Flec and Bisoprolol.

I have been on digoxin since the end of June. Consultant EP did not want to increase bisoprol any further than 7.5mg due to lowering BP any further (side effect of bisoprolol is that it does lower BP). As I understood it digoxin is only a rate control medicine and does nothing for rthythm (I am in persistent AF and when cardioversion failed after 24 hours a year ago consultant took me off flecanide because he said no point taking something that is providing no or very little benefit and said he only prescribed amioderone just before and after an ablation. In fact I was at GPs this afternoon and may reduce bisoprolol because at times BP is too low (90 to 105).

Peter I was the same as you - Bisoprolol and Digoxin were used to bring my heart rate down while being anticoagulated before cardioversion. 2.5mg of Bisoprolol reduced my blood pressure to between 80 and 100 (top number) and didnt reduce my heart rate enough so I couldnt have more so they gave me Digoxin as well. I was dizzy and felt faint and couldnt drive on 2.5mg of Bisoprolol and felt so much better when reduced to 1.25mg. So I concluded that Digoxin was fine for me but Bisoprolol really wasnt!
