Presently recovering from an ablation for SVT. My first attack was about 5 years ago and subsequently I have ended up in A and E about 2 or 3 times a year with bad attacks and heartbeat from 160 to 220 beats a minute lasting for anything between 6 and 10 hours. I have spent the past year on 10mg Bisoprolol which has left me feeling tired and spaced out but did prevent the SVT. Anyway to cut a long story short, last November I had an EP study where it was discovered that the SVT originated in the left atrium. So last Monday I had a transceptal ablation performed by the wonderful Dr. Matthew Lovell at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. Hopefully it will have worked! I would like to thank all the people who have posted on these forums as even though most describe Ab Fib the information on ablation and medications have been so helpful and re- assuring. To anyone considering ablation I would echo the advice and say Go for it!

Marvellous outcome for you I can feel your joy and relief so pleased for you. I had an Ep study earlier this year with the hope of finding my atrial issue and ablating it. I have symptoms like you horrendous aren't they .

Unfortunately they could not find my atrial source so I am back to square one. Can't tell you how gutted I am as symptoms continue apace.

So enjoy your new found freedom it is an amazing gift to get your life back as you knew it before all this. grab every Svt free minute with both hands.

Be well, be free, wonderful outcome.
