Good news

Cardiology Department telephoned me today and said they had had a cancellation and would I like to go in next Wednesday at 9a.m. for AV node ablation. As long as blood test is ok, which is on Monday, it is all systems go. As I have said before, my EP is brilliant and it is because of this forum giving me so much information, that this is happening.

Thanking you all.

Angel Blessings.

That is good news. Not too long for you to have to wait now. Let us know how it goes. Where are you having it done.

Be well.

Dee.

Hi Dee, my EP Dr Slade is doing it in Treliske Hospital in Truro. I know it sounds silly but I am quite looking forward to the procedure after having read about other's experiences so I know I have nothing to worry about. I will also be able to watch it which I find very interesting. I will let you know how it goes.

Hope you are having a calm time.

Hope everything goes well, my understanding is very limited, does this

mean you are having a pacemaker fitted. What prompted that decision.

Good luck.

Just read another post and realised you already have a pacemaker

Do hope everything goes well.

Thank you shirlygirly, yes I already have a pacemaker so they EP will ablate the natural pacemaker leaving a little bit as backup!

Take care.

That is fantastic. I guess we will all be waiting to hear how you go on as although it is the same procedure there are not so many people who have had the node tabulated. I would think it will be a shorter time. Hope you do get to watch . The screen was just out of my sight and I was too drowsy to care for most of the time.

I'm looking forward to hearing about it. X

I am good thanks but as everyone warned I am much more tired than expected.I had runs of ectopic all afternoon which would normally have triggered the A.F. but didn't so I'm hoping that is a good sign. Anyway thanks to advice on here I'm prepared for some strange happenings for the next few months.

I was very happy with my treatment in the end as you know I had been a bit anxious at one point. I am pleased to get this" under my belt" I must admit.

How are you Rosie?

Thank you so much for all your good wishes and support. At least I should be fit and well to look after my husband Mike who is having a knee replacement on the 27th February! I am assuming I will be well enough to cart in all the logs for the wood burner!! 😊

Hope you will have a happy and calm weekend.

Angel blessings to you all.

I wish you well. In January of last year I had an av node ablation and it made all the difference in the world prior to the ablation my quality of life was miserable.

So are AV node & PVI ablations different.

I have an ablation on the 17th but not aware it could be one or the other for AFib

Thank you albyone, that is great news. I am sure it will make all the difference to my life. How long did you rest for afterwards?

Take care.

Yes MickN, it is different. Av node ablation is usually referred to as "pace and ablate" but as I already have a pacemaker then all I will have is the ablation which only take up to an hour in all and home the same day. The PV ablation is a longer procedure but Bob can explain the details of of these procedures better than I (can't you Bob?).

Best of luck with yours on the 17th, we can compare notes afterwards.

Take care and Angel blessings.
