Two months post ablation and that's two days this week I've had af, I'm so annoyed & depressed It's unreal, my 3rd ablation I was told that the rogue vein had reconnected from the 2nd ablation so my worry is maybe that's happened again?

Hold on there Kaiser. You know it takes three to six months for things to settle down and anyway are you sure it is AF? Far to early days yet. MIne took something like 8 months.

It's not NRS bob mate, it's pretty irregular, I can't afford to take time off work, going into work weak today.

Oh, that is so very disappointing!

I was attack-free for exactly 8 weeks post-ablation but it seems to have settled down again now.

I think that we have to consider that there is always going to be the possibility of further attacks, for every single one of us. Like toothache, it may well strike again.

Yes, that's disappointing and tiresome, but don't feel too despondent, Kaiser. It took me 7 months to shake off AF after my ablation, but since the end of October I've had no more trouble. Don't abandon hope!

as others have said- early days, and attacks should be more limited as some more pathways have been knocked out.

Kaiser, It must be very hard not to get upset and angry with your situation but hang on in there it maybe temporary. I had a couple of spells in AF after my 1st Ablation and they settled down and again about 18months after another bout of AF which again settled. Just try and hang on. Pour your heart out on here and people will help however the are able. I'm Three days post second Ablation and although I'm not a religious person I'm praying its worked. Keep your head up and all the very best for the future

Cheers Paul, it just ruins your life, i was scared to carry my wee girl to bed, I've been super fit all my life, both episodes lasted 8-10 hrs. I'm only 36!! Also when in NSR my heart goes down to 40 bpm, which worries me too!

Hi, when I was first diagnosed my GP told me it is more likely to strike young fit people who do prolonged bouts of excercise like cycling and distance running than those who don't. 40 bpm is low but not uncommon in very fit people of your age. I was 35 when I had my first bout of AF but it really took hold at 50 following diarrhoea and sickness. My resting heart rate at your age was just below 50 bpm. Fittness who wants it! Keep smiling.

Hi Kaiser...i am the same age as you and also have young children. I am in a very similar situation as I too had an ablation Oct 2014 and am still off work as I have AF and palps every evening for a few hours and very unsettled heart overnight. I am on half pay and have not been allowed back to work. The impact of AF is very big financially and in other ways. I hope you can stay positive. I have some very down days but now force myself most days to think positively which had takrn a long time for me but helped me in many ways maintain my well being. I also have felt very vulnerable looking after my kids when on my own as I get so dizzy. But thankfully we have always been ok and we have a good support network. wishing you recovery and wellness. I hope things improve...8 hours is awful. Look after yourself and try and take it easy if you can but i understand the need to work.

Its tough for you but I think the advice that it early days is still applicable.

Also, are you sure it is AF? I have been getting short runs that I think may be AF but the EP who I had an appointment with last week considered from my description were more likely to be couplets of ectopics.

I am sure you will discuss with your EP.

I hope you get a resolution
