Why don't they take me off bisoprolol when I have a 48 hour heart monitor to try and catch PAF. The bisoprolol keeps my rate low and reasonably steady, so surely the results are a little skewed?

Heart monitor and Bisoprolol
Lindabob, I'm not a medic but I guess they want to see how well the Bisoprolol is working to control your PAF - possibly so they can adjust the dosage?
You maybe be right, they also talk about being sure and checking out SVT as well and how it all relates to having an Ablation!!!
Hi. Unlikely the monitor is checking the Bisoprolol. As regards the AF or Flutter or SVT the Bisoprolol would not stop all symptoms, good as it is at keeping things steady. Af etc can be very low level that you might not know it is happening when it does. That's what they are looking for. They don't remove the Bisoprolol because there is no reason to. Any difficulty will show itself either way on the monitor reading, and thus they can see what it is they are treating.
