Hi Poppy,

I assume this means you have a CRT-D device implanted which is designed to synchronise the pumping of your hearts ventricles to make them pump the blood more efficiently. It will also give a shock (cardioversion) if it detects that there is an abnormal life threatening heart rhythm. I had a normal ICD (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) fitted in 2010 and have had no problems with it at all. I would guess that problems with leads can and do occur, but that it is not common. It could well be that the lead has just become dislodged and it might be an easy job for a skilled surgeon to put it right but your cardiologist will have all the answers you need. Sorry I can't be more helpful but you obviously need to speak to someone with more knowledge of your personal case.

Cyril.
