Do I have another ablation after having a tamponade with my first and losing a litre of blood?

It has taken me 2 months to get over the tiredness of it all.

This was done in January, the ablation could not be finished, because off the Tamponade. when is the best time to leave before another ablation?

I think you need to ask your EP that one after your previous experience. I had my 2nd 12 weeks after the 1st and my EP wanted to do it within 8 weeks, but I had absolutely no complications with the 1st.

Your body will need time to recover from the shock it had.

I would give it 3months to recover, but your EP will tell you when he's happy to do it.

Not surprised it has taken 2 months to get over the effects of that very dramatic complication. I would be asking a lot of questions about why they think this happened in your particular case. Generally speaking, risk of tamponade is much higher in women than in men, and much less likely to happen at a high volume center. In other words, if I were willing to take that risk again, which I would consider most carefully, I would make sure to have it done at the place that does the most ablations as the chances of that happening again would be lowest. I know that is not exactly the question you asked, but important as well. Discuss the timing with your EP. Best to you.

Hi 18days ago I had a similar experience, the ablation was aborted, l was in hospital for 4 days. The consultants seem very keep for me to return a.s.a.p. to have the ablation. I would be interested to hear if you did go for another and how long you waited?

Many thanks Mo
