I hope you all watched Breakfast TV this morning and saw Trudie talking about the new implantable monitor. Brilliant performance and good news for many people struggling to get a diagnosis .

Infuriatingly just switched on when the piece was just finishing. Ian how did you get it on I player ? I've tried to find it and I just get that Breakfast is not available on I player.

Go to Iplayer, and on the bottom left you will see TV Channels.

Go to BBC One, and TODAY, and then scroll back to Breakfast, click on it to play.

Then pull the cursor across to 8:45 and you will see it.

Cheers Ian

Thanks for info. Ian. Amazing device. It will help so many people if it becomes routinely offered to those that need it but that will probably be a long way off I expect, but it's a start. Trudie explained A.F. and the device so well.

Missed it because I was having a Warfarin blood test! Will catch up on iPlayer tonight.

I saw it. These things apparently cost £3,000 each so I cannot see them being in widespread use. There was emphasis on them triggering a call for attendance to hospital. To A&E? And then what? On an optimistic front, it is obvious that there are great technological advances in the pipeline.

My pal with the old type reveal is checked at the pacemaker clinic and I suspect if an arrhythmia was flagged up on such a device you'd be fast tracked to cardio not through A&E. If they'd already invested three grand in you, I'm guessing there would be a good referral system in place

Oh dear, can't get it on iPlayer, says it's unavailable. Wished I'd seen it.

I was thinking the same as Jenny. You get the wobbles, then what? I can feel my arrhythmia when it starts anyhow.

Where can we get more info?

Thank you for posting the link. Very interesting, well put and good publicity to make people more aware of AF. Well done Trudie.

Excellent presentation by Trudie. Noted her comment about AF causing heart failure, that I have, especially since a lot of cardio's try to say it doesn't. Mine said it was the cause.
