I am presently on Warfarin 3 to 4.5mg daily. The team at the surgery seem to have difficulty keeping my INR at the correct level. Also on Bisoprolol 7.5mg a day. Then when the weather gets colder I get colder and sometimes trigers a Af atteck.

Possibly the heart is trying to beat faster to keep my boby warm and the beta blockers are preventing this from happening. I am also on Digoxin 250mcg daily and crestor tablets.Welcome any replies and people having simular difficulties so I can at least feel not alone. My cardiologist did mention about 10% of the population has AF when they get to 80 years old ( not there yet) so there must be alot of people having this correlation between cold ageing and Af attacks.then also exhaustion when we have done alot in that day. Just trying as all those with Af to keep our Af attacks less frequent and plan our days with more hope.

Hi Sandy8,

I too have problems with keeping my anticoag stable and my AF and Angina are very much affected by the cold. I love the summer and dread the freezing conditions. I get tired easily but am only in my 50s....so it's going to be a long road for me too, you are definitely not alone.

Hi

Fortunately my INR remains within the 2-3 range - but I too feel the cold. I detest the winter months and the dark evenings especially after we alter the clocks.. I find it difficult to stay warm - even with several layers on. You are definitely not alone.

Take care

Marion

I expect you already do this but I have found my INR is getting more settled as I get used to the different amounts of Vit K in food. I have worked out approx equivalencies in vegetables and think this helps.! I agree about feeling cold!!

This will be my first warfarin winter so warm clothes will be essential. Last year I discovered FLEECES - jackets, jumpers and night attire. They are light weight and, most important, they wash and dry quickly.
