Not that I know of although statins which you may be on can cause leg pains. I have siatica at the moment but unrelated to the AF

Thanks Bob I was just a bit wary of it coming on when my afib is persistent now

That's ironic that this question should be asked - for the past two weeks I have had a nasty pain in my hip going down into my right calf and have assumed that it is the way I am sleeping, as it wears off a bit during the day. Keeps me awake at night.

I have just turned over my mattress (quite an effort for a nearly 80 year old) in the hope that tonight it will not be as bad as last night.

Maybe the "niggle" is to give me something to think about other than AF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, have bone spurs in both hips get a soft foam or even a couple of egg crate mattress pieces put together if you sleep on your side. Hope that helps a little.

Same here, Enjoy. I believe mine is an on- going degeneration of lower lumbar/sacral area dating back to slipped disc (twice)!! in the 90's. I looked after my mother at that time, (15 years in fact), a little lady, and not much lifting, (really only supporting) but never- the- less extra to do at the time . I've had a few medical goings- on recently but totally confident to weather the "storm"!!

Mine does give me occasional breaks from the pain but am due for a CT scan shortly. 3 years have rapidly passed by since my last appointment and with exercise and determination have coped. Hope you get a diagnosis soon as to what is happening in your problem areas . Regards.

I have had a hip pain as well - on the left side on the outside. It was uncomfortable to sleep on that side. It's not hip degeneration - the pain would be more in the groin area rather than the outside of the hip. I have had a scan and the consultant thinks it's due to a weak attachment from one of the muscles. I have been exercising those muscles (lying on right side and lifting left leg up vertically with an ankle weight). That has considerably improved the pain and I can now sleep on that side.

It's not associated with AF. Where is your pain?

I've always suffered from back and hip pains - both the result of spinal problems. New to me since AF are the leg and shin aches which are best explained as toothache like pain in the front of my legs. I gave up statins two years ago, as these caused leg and muscle cramps. I sometimes wonder if these shin pains are anything to do with circulation problems. We shall see.

That's a really good point I have currently had shocking pain in my right ankel and foot a particular bad attack of Gout I thought. but swelling and pain still there after 2weeks.The GP during last attack about 18 months ago prescribed a very strong pain killer that you have to take a tablet before it!

This was prior to my ablation August time,I have been taking ibuferin & Paracetamol but it has been sending my INR crazy! The prescribed pain was Decllofell something or other that is apparently not good for the heart!

I often get pain in my inner thigh, which aches more if I lie on that side or do a lot of walking. Also have aches in low legs. I blame the drugs I take for that.
