hi guys. im taking bisoprolol and they are making me feel sick
Hi Moggdog - I`m on the same dosage of Bisoprolol, and thankfully no problems, but it doesn`t suit everyone. If you find it is making you sick then I would suggest you see your G.P. or cardiologist a.s.a.p. as there are alternatives you can take.
Hi Moggdogg
First you have to give these drugs a chance, they are all pretty powerful after all they are slowing down the heart of changing the rhythm of the heart and it's not surprising that they have side effects.
But if you've been on them for a while, and it's not working then there are some real alternatives, there are at least 4 different beta blockers, under about 15 different brand names, and then there are calcium channel blockers around 3 I think again with numerous brand names.
Personally I struggled with bisoprolol for 3 months, had enough and went back and was changed to diltiazem, which has been great with no side effects at all.
Be well
Ian
Likewise - I too cannot take beta-blockers but Diltiazem has been really good - apart from the swollen feet and lower legs. I don't want to tempt things - but I have had just over three months on 120 and no trips to GP or A&E.
I also had problems with beta blockers and am now on diltiazem.
Hi mot dog yes it's done that to me too. I can't eat for days and have been told by Chinese doctor that it is bad to take and I take 10mg I am wanting to stop it completely but bit scared if I do it , doctor says beta blockers bad for some people and that it causes problems with blood pressure too. Hope someone can advise about this.
