Bone CT results.

Hello everyone,

I am oligometastic. After prostatectomy 3.5 years ago, I had two mets in the femur. They were treated succesfully with stereotactict radiotherapy.

My PSA currently and for the last 33 months is <0.01

Recent Bone CT scan results finds 22 mm new sclerotic metastasis in the femur.

My MO said this might be normal and order a new bone scan in six months.

My PSA is undetectable and yet the bone scan shows metastasis.

Why the PSA isn't rising as it did in the previous bone metastasis?

Has anyone had similar experience.

Your input would be very much appreciated.

Six months is a long time to wait to get a more definitive result.

Thanks.

PSA isn't cancer. You irradiated the biggest sources of PSA, which I call "treating PSA." But you didn't treat the cancer with hormone therapy.

thanks for your reply TA, Sorry I should have mentioned that for the last 3.5 years I am also treating the cancer with hormone therapy. I do 3 monthly Zolotex injections.

Then it’s a nonPSA-producing met. Maybe ask for a biopsy.

Thank you TA.

Just an update.

I have just spoken to my MO and he said that I am doing well with undetectable PSA and the uptake is from the old treated mets in the femur. There are no other metastasis in the organs or the bones. Hopefully he is wright on this.

Thank you again TA.

In six months it could turn out to be a false positive finding.

thanks GP24. I had a false positive in the liver 3.5 years ago.

My theory on this is that the "new metastasis" is actually the old rad-treated one and it is dormant but alive. The ADT is effectively keeping it from growing, although starving it of T. You could try to self-treat it with heat while waiting for further development medically Just my own theory, not proven or fact.

thank for your comments. I think you might correct on this.

what kind of heat? Like heat pack of deep heat cream? Thanks

Studies show that all cancer cells die when exposed to 106 degrees F. I use hot hot showers, heating pads, sauna, heated 2.5 lb steel weight from dumbell set. Method is not so important. Temperature is important.

They don't die but become more susceptible to chemo.

hello, what was the situation just after your prostatectomy 3,5 years ago? gleeson score, margins, etc...?

I don’t know my Gleeson score after prostatectomy but before was 7. My PSA before was 6.7 after prostatectomy was 5.6 because of 1 met in my pubic area and 2 Mets in the femur.

i asked because the examination of the protaste after removal gives you a clearer picture. My gleason score was 7 (3+4) according to biopsy, and the score was confirmed after the operation. Wish you the best!
