I use long pepper in cooking daily - it is peppery but also has lovely aroma. Whether it does something in that form to cancer or not, it goes into food regularly. Certainly cannot do any harm.

I haven't found it yet. Is it in Asian grocery stores? And isn't it related to black pepper?

I buy it in a local Indian store. We use it in different spice mixes too but I grind it in my spice grinder. It is long and thin; I am not sure but the family of plants is probably related to the black peppercorns.

I get it in 100 -150 gm packets. They do not look like anything interesting but see a photo on google before going to the shops and look in the whole spices aisle. Hope you can find it.

Although it's preclinical, it's hard not to be impressed. It's also hard to translate dosage to humans.
