I had tons of plastic ones in my urinary tracts (Many on the left, few on the right) in and out all the time. Never a problem with the plastic but my Urologist at the time (Retired Dr. E R Sosa) who was an expert at them mentioned to me that metal ones will be used and that they are much better. So you can take that to the bank.....(the bank for kidney transplants 😀).....
