This is another Ga-68-PSMA-11 PET scan called "Illucix" that will be available from 140 nuclear pharmacies in the US, vastly expanding the network.

Like the other two PSMA PET scans, it is approved for both recurrent patients and high risk patients (to rule out distant metastases).

Thanks TA, for posting.

These are only available in New Zealand if you have money to pay for them...nearly all our medical costs and procedures are free but.when it comes to cancer we are Neanderthal in this country... I've paid nothing for all the procedures thus far which is fantastic but more.needs to.be done here...

It's widely available in OZ.

Yes it is mate, one can't get in and out of oz for nearly two years now,and when borders open only vaccinated people can travel so it matters not for kiwis that oz has it.... go well

75% of NZ pop. is fully vaccinated. They are letting fully vaccinated international travelers into Sydney and Melbourne now.

Who has the money to pay for flights and medical procedures, it would cost thousands and new zealand borders are still closed....I am very well versed on what's happening in my country... and like I said ,no travel for the people who choose not to pricked...

Tall_Allen I was on intermittent Lupron for 10 yrs + and became castrate resistant, had bilateral orchiectomy, and went to Xtandi August 2021 with PSA1.87, T <15 in Test in Nov 2021 PSA .14, T < 15. In May 2021 had Axumin PET/CT TUM SKUL BS MIDTHIGH plus other scans with nothing found. I go to Stevenson Cancer center OU Medical. Went to Texas Univ Southwest Cancer Center Dallas prior to starting Xtandi for second opinion and wanted GA -68. They simply said everything has been done right and do not need the scan. Cancer is in lymph node bed left abdomen. Would you recommend me try in for newer scan or just keep on taking Xtandi and watch annual scans and my 3 month PSA & T values? I am 79 yrs and active.

I am in Oklahoma and use the Oklahoma Cancer Specialist and Research Center in Tulsa. I am not overly impressed with them and have been considering changing to the OU Stevenson center. How do you like the OU facility?

I like it a lot since Dr. Stratton is my urologist and he went to the same school as my original urologist Dr. Forrest while I was in Tulsa. They both were friends also. Below is from Stevenson web site which reinforces my liking them. I will get a second opinion if I have a major change just for peace of mind. Oklahoma’s only National Cancer Institute-Designated Cancer Center, Stephenson Cancer Center is one of the nation’s elite centers, representing the top 2% of cancer centers in the country.

This said I do not know about them in Tulsa and I almost know Dr. Forrest is retired and the last urologist I saw in Tulsa I did not trust.

I may look into changing over to the Stevenson Center if I can find a good oncologist there. I like my Urologist in Tulsa. He is with Urologic Specialists, But I just dont get a good vibe from my oncologist at the Oklahoma Cancer Specialists facility. The only downside would be the drive from Fort Gibson lake to OKC for appointments/treatments.

Nothing will show up on any scans at your low PSA.

I discussed this low PSA with my urologist and his PA. They both shot some smoke and I went to Texas for a second opinion and got the same. Do not know what to think, but I will continue with Xtandi. Perhaps I will go to MD Anderson for a third opinion at a latter date.

There's a table at the end that shows detection rates by PSA:

Thank you. This test has been available at my local hospital (Roanoke VA). since October 2021. My doctor recommended in November that I have this test. Unfortunately, Aetna Insurance rejected and denied my opportunity for the test. Their claim was the test was too unreliable. Maybe, Aetna should revisit their mission statement “to help people achieve health and financial security by providing easy access to cost-effective, high-quality health care.” FDA approved test should be sufficient enough to be considered "reliable" for a doctor to use to enhance treatment for cancer.

Great scan name, starts with ill, mentions u and ends in cix...doesn't give you much confidence in the outcome.
