Hi everyone,

Do you feel much in terms of nausea after just the one infusion? Dad is due to have it right before our holiday and he's concerned about feeling too ill for that week. Thanks in advance everyone πŸ™

Most everyone is has different side effects. I had no negative side effects at all, in fact it seemed to energize me. Others have flu like symptoms for a day or so. Keep a close eye on your fathers body temperature. "Chemotherapy can often lead to a reduced white blood cell count, or neutropenia. This condition causes the patient's body to be less effective at fighting off infection".

My Husband had very little side effects as well. No nausea , a little tired, but as Hillwalker says, everyone is different

Wishing your Dad every success with his chemo !

They will give him a corticosteroid (prednisone or dexamethasone) and an antiemetic (like Zofran, Emend, Reglan) for nausea. As chemos go, the risk of severe nausea with Taxotere is low. He should avoid alcohol.

Hi, I had no discernible side effects during my treatments. I didn't even need to take the anti-emetics that were prescribed for me. I used to do a 24 hour fast prior to my treatment as I'd read that it helped reduce the nausea of chemo, not sure if it helped but I was willing to give it a go. Everyone seems to be different so wishing your Dad all the best with his treatments, and I hope his side effects are minimal.
