Is olive oil bad if under androgen deprivation treatment?

Good day to all, my father is under zoladex and we just had spaghetti that has a generous amount of pure olive oil, not the extra virgin one, so it just made me curious if this could be bad or could it be good? Thanks a lot

Oils are not a problem aa concluded in a very large (sample size 50000) epidemiological study done 1 year ago. Oils have 9 calories per ml and cause weight gain and tryglycerid/cholesterol rise which is not good for PCa and for Heart. So amount of oil should be curtailed .The better oils for PCa are Mustard oil, Sesame seed oil and Olive Oil. Quantity consumed should be limited .

Dr. Myers was very fussy about oils because of his desire to avoid arachnoidic acid.

For that reason he favored Olive oil, almond oil, and avocado oil over other oils. And he liked fish oil.

He positively detested canola oil for that same reason.

He also seemed like he believed enough of the good oils could crowd out the bad oils, that you can never fully avoid in a modern diet.

Canola oil is also cheap garbage. You might as well cool your food in New Orleans toilet water if you're going to use that cheap shit.

Neither good nor bad.

I could only see it being "bad" if the oil itself was bad (rancid) or severely overheated. But I also only see it as really being "good" if the oil was good quality extra virgin, not overheated.

Olive oil designated "pure" is more refined than "extra virgin" (thus paradoxically seeming to make the extra virgin more pure than the pure!). Does less processing mean a healthier oil? Probably in some respects, since it would be closer to the whole food of the olive itself.

One reviewer of olive oil has said: “Refined oils have little or no olive aroma, flavor, or color. They also have no bitterness and lack the important antioxidants and anti-inflammatories that make extra-virgin oil so special.”

The problem with olive oil from the EU is the volume of adulterated oil that is exported.

Another issue is the failure to provide harvest dates on the labels. Olive oil does not improve with age.

Get Olive Oil certified as California Olive oil grown in California.

Pay no attention to titles that include the word "California" in them.

They have a new crop every two years and it stays good for two years.

Hey pjoshea13!

I did a little clicking years ago when it was reported that mixing olive oil with cheap oils was generating serious money for organized crime. There is an organization that is highly respected which sort of oversees olive oil production in Italy.

"Our organic extra-virgin olive oil is certified by the ICEA (Italian Ethical and Environmental Certifying Body), a non-profit consortium operating in the field of businesses connected with lasting, ethical, environmentally-friendly development.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL ORGANIC - Casolare Bio

casolarebio.com/ "

If the acronym ICEA is seen on the bottle, (usually in small print), and the "USDA ORGANIC" too, it is a safe bet you are getting what the label says is in the bottle. It should have a peppery taste.

LifeExtension sells an organic olive oil cold pressed within hours of harvest, unfiltered from olives grown in California. it is a high quality oil with high amounts of polyphenols. It is a little pricey.

Regardless of what organization or government entity whose logo is on a bottle certifying the contents as "something" if the bottle isn't glass I wont' buy it. If the company bottling the oil doesn't think their oil is worth a glass bottle I don't think it is worth buying.

No effect. It only creates anxiety to question everything one puts into one's mouth.
