ISO Knowledgeable, Compassionate Urologic Oncologist

Does anyone in the group have an Urologic Oncologist that they greatly respect and is compassionate in the North Shore University Healthcare System in Chicago’s north shore? My Dad’s current Oncologist is quite arrogant and we’ve about had enough. He has a doc he loves at Moffitt but the Chicago doc leaves a bit to be desired. Thank you in advance!

I don't believe NW is that far from you? You are lucky to live in Chicago are with good options...you have NW, U Chicago good program I think, and U Ill med school expertise....maybe others? Lloyola?

Thank you - you are correct that they aren’t far and good programs. In Tampa he is an hour away from Moffitt so for treatments and hospitalizations it seems very far. Was hoping to stay closer to his home when he’s in the Chicago area. I know we’re spoiled.

I don’t know anyone at North Shore but would second the Northwestern suggestion. My oncologist is Dr Maha Hussain and I am very happy with her.

Thank you - I will reach out to see where their offices are. Its so hard to sometimes find doctors you are comfortable with in stressful situations.

Maha Hussain and Alicia Morgens are at Northwestern. Scott Eggener is at U of C.

I have been seeing Dr. Dan Shevrin at NorthShore for many years (originally from his listing in Scholtz's book as one of 50 top PC MOs in the US,). I recommend him without reservation.

The book was something like "Invasion of the Prostate Snatchers."

Sometimes asking a support person in one of those departments will yield a great suggestion......emphasizing knowledge and compassion!!! Without both, any MD is lacking, IMHO?

Julie Kish. Been seeing her since 2013. Very kind, engaging and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
