Abiraterone and Dietary Fat

Can anyone tell me specifically what foods interfere (amplify?) Abys effect? I understand it’s fat. Does that include only animal fat or any fat, like that associated with avocados? Also is there some minimum quantity that is required to have this effect? For example would the 1% fat milk foam I like to froth my coffee with interfere with abi?

"Early clinical studies of AA {Abiraterone acetate} demonstrated that when administered with food, drug exposure was significantly increased compared with fasting administration. According to the drug label, food leads to a five- to seven-fold increase in drug concentration with a low-fat meal and a 10- to 17-fold increase with a high-fat meal. Nevertheless, the registration studies of AA were conducted in the fasting state, resulting in the current approved dosage of 1,000 mg daily." [1]

In other words, taking Abi with food containing very little fat will significantly increase potency, & fat-free food is likely to have an effect too. Fat is only one variable here. There is no mention as to the size of the 'meal', or the type of fat.

Note that a zero-fat, high-carb meal quickly leads to the production of palmitic acid, a 16-carbon saturated fat.

Note that CYP3A4 inhibitors (inducers) such as Grapefruit (St. John's Wort) will affect the clearance rate of Abi.

Any kind of fat will increase absorption. The more fat, the more absorption.

I assume you are aware that taking 1 250mg dose with food is a new NCCN Guideline as another option? I realize it may have nothing to do with your question but I thought I would throw it out there.
