I am interested in speaking with guys who have been dx with treatment emergent small cell prostate cancer. It seems to be extremely rare and I would like to compare notes. Please message/ respond. Mike will start the ippi/ novo immunotherapy combo on Monday but I can’t find much information about how SCpc responds to this combo. Thanks

I think you will get anecdotal insights only from the principal investigators of that clinical trial. If anyone has seen cases, he has. Why not ask him?

Hi Blair77

I have large cell treatment emergent- NEPC. Assume potential treatment options are the same. I'm in New Zealand and have been offered few local options. Recent radiotherapy and adding Abiraterone (Zytiga) to existing Zoladex is it. Not very exciting really is it. I keep pressing my onco for more but he's either very conservative or just letting me down gently. Happy to keep in touch.

Hi ,

I will have to read up on this type. I feel it may also have the same aggressive features as small cell. Thanks for reaching out.

Hi.

Yes they are similar in most ways from what I can see. Very aggressive and less sensitive to all the standard treatments of chemo, radiotherapy and hormones blockers so prognosis is poor.

I am doing the cabergolne and zinc protocol of Dr Costellos at present. 5 weeks out of 8. Wont know if it's working until later. He thought I should notice things after 6 weeks.

Cheers

Ross

See my profile. ScNEPC responded to etoposide and carboplatin. Genomic sequencing says I will respond to Olaparib next when needed.

Hi Blair my husband named mike also was dx with stage 4 small cell prostate cancer in November of 2018. He went through chemo 6 rounds and radiation 10 rounds. Since this particular cancer can go to the brain, he has to get an MRI every three months along with CT on chest, pelvis and abdomen. He has been on. 500mg of Zytiga for almost a year, he has to get Trelstar shot every six months. So far so good he just had scans done on Monday will get the results on Friday. He has some fatigue and some lower back pain. I too looked on the internet for information and really didn’t find anything. All I can do is to continue to pray that my husband health continues to be great and have trust and faith on his doctors
