Care Oncology Protocol and MCP

Is there anyone out there that is on the Care Oncology protocol and is also taking Modified Citrus Pectin? While on the protocol every time I start taking the Mebendazole my liver numbers on the CMP test go out of spec. The CO doctor is suspicious that it is caused by the grapefruit in the MCP, however my understanding is that this should not be an issue.

So I was wondering if anyone else was taking this combination and if they had problems or not.

Thanks much for reading.

I have been taking MCP for several years prior to going on the CO protocol. My liver numbers are within range and my CO doctor has not raised any concerns about liver numbers.

Hi Irish Dude,

I also had elevated Liver Enzymes after taking Mebendazole while on Modified Citrus Pectin. Alk Phos to 128, ALT to 76....scared me but not the doctor as it resolved after d/c Mebendazole. For a while after the incident, I stopped most all supplements and flushed my system with water.

I'll ask my pharmacologist next time about the liver metabolism of Mebendazole and MCP. Good luck with balancing the protocol.

Thanks, I would be interested in what your pharmacologist says. So I take it you never went back to the Mebendazole?

Are you taking menbendazole continuously or pulsed (3 days on and off 4)? There seems to be two different approaches.

continuously

From reading about Joe Tippens, he pulsed his intake of Fenben. 3 days on, then 4 days off.

Actually I was mistaken when I said continuously. They standard CO protocol switches monthly between doxycycline and menbendazole. Since I apparently cannot tolerate the menbendazole they are now proposing that I take the doxycycline continuously.

I am not sure of the implications of that yet.

Keep us posted. I'm doing a COC protocol minus the Doxcy. I have it but in the past have had mild reactions to antibiotics.

For some reason the doctor does not seem to acknowledge this. She said that she's never seen anyone have a problem with Mebendazole.

I am 62, no drugs other than the Lupron in my ass, and what Care Oncology gives me, plus a fair amount of supplements.

The Care Oncology Doctor threw it back to their pharmacy team who reviewed my list of supplements, including MCP, and could find no interactions with Mebendazole. Apparently I just can't tolerate it.

So now where they normally rotate the Mebendazole with doxycycline, they are proposing I now use the doxycycline continuously. I don't know the implications of that yet, but I will research of course.

I hope the guys that are taking some of these meds on their own are also getting themselves tested. I think this may be a cautionary tale.
