18F-DCFPyL PSMA PET/CT for Lu-177 eligibility evaluation

The 18F-DCFPyL PSMA scan is potentially superior to the Ga68-PSMA scan and we have been accepted into a trial using this scan at no cost.

My question is, is the 18F-DCFPyL PSMA scan readily accepted in Germany as proof of PSMA avidity for potential LU-177 treatment or is it better to get a Ga68 PSMA since that is what the doctors are used to evaluating?

I can't say how much this site has helped us, I am so grateful to all of you who share, learn, and are of service here.

It makes no difference. Both scans are readily accepted in Germany as proof of PSMA avidity. Some clinics use 18F-DCFPyL, some Ga68, some both.

Thank you, I didn't realize that both were used in Germany. We will probably move forward with the 18F-DCFPyL PSMA.

Just curious which trial. I did a trial through Johns Hopkins (Dr. Ken Pienta) in 2017 with the 18-FDCFPyL. They were very good.

All the best.

I called them about this trial:

clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...

but was referred to what I assume is this trial:

clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...

It says it is closed, but the recruitment coordinator told me they had reoppened it. We were only offered the 68GA-RM2 through the first trial link above, which is not PSMA bound.
