Anyone here on This Clinical Trial?

Antiandrogen Therapy and Radiation Therapy With or Without Docetaxel in Treating Patients With Prostate Cancer That Has Been Removed by Surgery

clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show...

Given my pathology (G8, SVI+) I am thinking of asking my doctor about this. My PSA 6 weeks after surgery was 0.1 (not ultrasensitive test) at Quest. Given my original PSA was less than 6, I should have been less than 0.1 six weeks later. I will be getting my official 3 month after surgery PSA in a week or two (ultrasensitive). So we will see how that goes.

After having read thse boards.....I am beginning to feel like I prefer offense over defense.

Anyway if you are involved in that trial how is it going?

How do clinical trials work? Getting accepted into one etc...

Have many of you been treated with ADT, SRT and Docetexal soon after your prostatectomy with or without a clinical trial?

Thank you.

I would encourage hitting the bastard hard early and assuming decent body health. ADT, Radiation, and Chemo; especially with an 8. What does your oncologist say? Have you discussed the possibility of micro-metastasis.

My clinical trial was in 2004 and it is posted.

I am overweight, but otherwise in good shape, and I am "just" 53. Do you remember the treatment regimen you went through?

in reply to

It was beyond SOC. I heard it referred to as Ultra SOC. The trial was approved because my guy was one of the world’s leading researchers. Look at my previous posts in this group or simply Google Gourd Dancer Advanced Prostate Cancer.

In 2004, it just made sense to attack the cancer while the tumor burden is minimal and the body strong. Once cancer takes hold, things get tough..... I believe too many use a systemic treatment like chemo too late. But I have no medical background.

Good luck

Very similar story. At 6 weeks post-RP my PSA was 0.67 and continued dropping to 0.48 but then started rising again. Started ADT with Lupron and zytiga and began 40 radiation sessions about 12 weeks later. Was also 53 when I had RP, will be 56 in 3 months.

Def get some advanced imaging done to try and determine the best radiation target which will help improve outcome and reduce potential future complications.
