Pain, like rain...falls

sometimes relentless...

sometimes in sheets...

sometimes in light drizzles.

Sometimes it stops.

it is the ultimate rainbow when it stops.

not exercising for 24 hours/not drinking coffee for 12 hours

not eating or drinking ANYTHING (even chewing gum) for 8 hours.

After

driving to AND waiting at the hospital testing area for 2 hours

being pricked about a dozen times before they found a viable vein and inserted an infusion line

using a lidocaine patch from my late sister before bed

lower back pain so excruciating I can taste it

woke up this morning after only getting up twice

walking the dog felt "normal"

the path along the "Camino" seems lighter

can't keep staring forward

a slip and I could fall

Heavy thoughts. Glad you took the walk at the end -- some solace -- or the reader will just feel smacked in the face. Good you put em down, greatjohn. My pain so far has been pretty minor. I'm dreading the road ahead.

My back pain is from a rollerblading accident 20 years ago...

I'm pretty sure all of my other pain

is from Lupron and Xgeva.

I don't think I have had actual cancer pain yet. (Not that I suppose it matters, pain is pain.)

The walk is a constant...except when they tell me " no exercise " before a test. Twice a day, every day..

P.S. "the road ahead"....I suppose it's like "tomorrow"....it never comes. We have today.

I was so young...I hardly remember anything...LOL...but it's a pleasant "photo" memory at least...My dad LOVED Fords so it's cool that it's got a Ford in the shot....
